To me, music is the essence of my soul and emotions. It helps me express my moods and feelings no matter where I am and what I am doing. It even expands my own imagination and creativity, being able to create worlds and moments in my head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I fell in love with music during my early years of elementary school but I had a limited sense of it mainly listening to rap, R&B and some pop. This was because I would only listen to other people\u2019s music and never had a chance to explore different genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn\u2019t until my sophomore year of high school where I truly expanded my mind to the countless genres of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although I had many reasons that caused me to listen to music, my best friend was the main reason I expanded my tastes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in high school he was in band, so he was always big on music. Whenever we would hang out, we would listen to his music. At first, I was not much of a fan but the more we hung out each day, I would find myself bobbing my head to his music and I am glad to say I fell in love with all kinds of music after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To this day, I can jam out to country, rock, reggaeton, phonk, metal, indie, jazz, corridos, electronic and so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great thing about this mixture of music is that I was able to identify some of my emotions. I say this because I am not one to express many emotions, especially to others besides just smiling or being serious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening to music helps me reconnect with my emotions. For the longest time, I have always tried to hide many of my emotions and still do sometimes. However, my music helps to unravel the mess I hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite part about my music is the countless songs that motivate me to be better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, I\u2019ve felt like I am stuck in the same place and worry that I won\u2019t be able to improve. At that point, I throw on my headphones and blast one of my songs until I stop feeling sorry for myself and actually do something productive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without my music, I feel like there is something missing in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently left my AirPods in my sister\u2019s apartment in Kingsville. I have had to go without music while I am in public for a while now and everything seems dull and bland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s only when I sit down on my work computer or when I am at my house where I can truly feel the full embrace of it. There were even times where I would stop to jam out to some random event\u2019s music just to listen to something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong, the world is beautiful but I think music gives a little more excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music has become a key part of my life making every moment great and meaningful. I listened to music the entire time I wrote this column and I\u2019ll keep listening to music all the way to my grave. I can promise that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
