Born and raised in McAllen, he attended UTRGV before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;He also gained experience at the University of Arkansas before returning to Austin in 2023 to work in football recruiting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director of Football Operations and Administration John Simmons said Herrera\u2019s dedication stood out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cOh there\u2019s a ton of things about Cameron that impressed me,\u201d Simmons said. \u201cHis humbleness, his willingness to work and his work ethics such like none.The people that I\u2019ve talked to, as we\u2019re calling his references, and talking to people he\u2019s worked with the last few years, they just can\u2019t speak.
