GET is the latest application developed by Auxiliary Services that simplifies the current V-Bucks on-campus currency system. Assistant Director of Card Services and Systems Management, Homer Villalobos, explains exactly what the applications offers to students.
[su_quote] “GET is a website and mobile app platform that interfaces with our campus card system. The idea behind the name ‘GET’ is obviously you’re going to get something out of the software. Our users are going to do things like get access to manage their V1 card account, or get funds like V-Bucks, they can get to places around campus that accepts the V1 card, and they can get food.”

In a previous interview with Executive Director for Auxiliary Business Services, Robert Cantu, explained why this application was developed for students.
[su_quote] “So, it’ll give them more flexibility, it’ll give them more ease. They can send a request, and we are doing things like that to kind of make things easier on campus, and we realize our students are very involved, and they do everything on their phones.”

Robert Cantu and Homer Villalobos both expressed that students needs are the main considerations when developing these kinds of services. Students like Interdisciplinary studies junior, Jasmine Mata, feel that the application will be beneficial for their future on campus.
[su_quote] “I feel like that is cool, because what they are trying to do with credit cards now you can just scan it and pay. I feel like it’s understandable that they want to keep up with technology since everyone is getting more into that.”
