The UTRGV Campus Activities Board kicks off the month of April with a Bunny Bash event  at the Quad on the Edinburg campus. The event was filled with games, food, a photo booth and a bunny petting zoo.

The event featured a petting zoo in the center of the Quad, accompanied by a photo booth with a llama. Students were able to race their friends on the bicycle track, interact with the bunnies, along with other activities and food stations.

Chair of the CAB Committee Ximena Reyes Solis shared how being part of the organization is all student based.

“We are a student organization,” Reyes Solis said. “Basically, all of our students are the ones that come up with the ideas for the events, plan the events and even run the events.”

Reyes Solis says the student-led approach of the organization ensures that events are tailored to the interests and preferences of the student body.

“All of our workers are volunteers,” she said. “So, we are all like students [of] all different majors, so we are all super inclusive with each other; it really is like a family.”

She said the main goal of the event is for students to have fun and enjoy their time outside of class.

“Well, we wanted people to have fun because this is one of CAB’s last events, so we wanted to make sure to go off with a bang,” Reyes Solis said.

Sophomore Fernando Ostos Limon attended the event with the House of Fashion club. The club managed a sports attraction filled with basketball, football and baseball.

Ostos Limon said he attended the event to support his club and hand out flyers for its upcoming event.

He also mentioned it was a great opportunity for club members to bond and have a good time together.
