I Love UTRGV Campaign Begins

The Division of Institutional Advancement is hosting I Love UTRGV, a philanthropic online campaign for faculty and staff to show their support for the University through donations.

The campaign is voluntary and allows U-T-R-G-V- employees to select any university department or program of their choice. Faculty and staff have the opportunity to donate and show their financial support from February tenth to March tenth.

Annual Giving Manager, Luis Larraga says the campaign’s purpose is to raise funds for the university.

I Love UTRGV is a philanthropic campaign for faculty and staff members at U-T-R-G-V- and the purpose is to raise funds to benefit the people and programs of the university.

Larraga says the reason the campaign is done in February is because they considered it to be the month of love. The funds will be used to continue improving the “high-quality experience” at UTRGV.

Organizational Development Specialist with the Office of Human Resources Nicole Englitsch says giving back to the institution was really important for her.

[So] it was important for me to give back to the Institution that gave so much to me, especially for me, I am not from here, I am from Europe, so I came here and they welcomed me with open arms and I wanted to give back to the Institution…

The donations can be done through Payroll Deductions on PeopleSoft or by online donations. There is no minimum amount to donate. Associate Vice-President for the University Marketing & Communications, Patrick Gonzales says that he recommends investing in the mission of UTRGV.

If you believe in the Mission, and believe at what is going on at U-T-R-G-V- I highly recommend that you invest in that mission, any bit helps and its always important to give back to the university that gave back to you…

Larraga says this is the first time the campaign has taken place, and they plan to continue doing it on a yearly basis. For more information visit give.utrgv.edu/iloveutrgv.
