UTRGV students are excited for the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons, which is a video-game for the Nintendo Switch. The strategic life-simulation game officially released last Friday on March 20th.

Mechanical Engineering Senior Carlos Guzman says he is excited for the release.

I’m really really excited. I was one of the millions of people who as soon as they heard how they were going to release a new Animal Crossing my mind was blown.

Guzman said that two years ago he set money aside to preorder the game.

Guzman adds on by talking about his predictions for how people will react to the game.

This game is going to be really huge, a lot of people are going to go out and buy this game. I am definitely going to be one of those guys.

Guzman says that the big appeal of Animal Crossing games is that there is no objectives. The games consist of building a town and playing a virtual life.

Video Game Voice Actor Adam Carrizales talks about the appeal of past Animal Crossing games.

It’s the perfect form of escapism, there is no objective to it. You can go at your own pace and decide exactly what you want to do.

Carrizales is one of the many that are excited for the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons. Game Stop Employee Jaime Galvan explains what its like to play Animal Crossing games.

It’s a role playing game, it’s not one of the games nowadays that has a lot of violence. It’s a storyline game that’s rated E for everyone.

Galvan says that the game is selling “well,” and customers keep calling to ask questions about the game.
