The UTRGV Student Government Association is accepting applications for candidates until Sunday for the 2021-2022 academic year.
According to an email sent to students on Tuesday, the positions available are:
- President
- Vice President for Brownsville
- Vice President for Edinburg
Positions available for undergraduate students:
- Academic Senators for each college/school
- Senator-At-Large for Brownsville
- Senator-At-Large for Edinburg
Positions available for graduate students:
- Graduate Senator for Brownsville
- Graduate Senator for Edinburg
- Senator-At-Large for Brownsville
- Senator-At-Large for Edinburg
The SGA Constitution on VLink states the requirements students must meet in order to hold an elected position.
Undergraduates must be enrolled in at least 12 hours at the time of application unless they are within 11 months of graduating. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours unless they are within three hours of graduating.
All students must complete 75% of attempted coursework per semester and must meet minimum GPA standards for each position.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
