The Fall 2026 Get Involved and Volunteer Fair gave students an opportunity last Tuesday to discover organizations, connect with other members of the UTRGV community and find ways to become involved during their college experience..
The event featured representatives from different student organizations, along with opportunities for students to ask questions, make connections and discover activities available throughout the university.
Treasurer for the Pre-Law Society, Valeria Delgado, said the organization provides students with opportunities to connect with legal professionals and learn more about pursuing a career in law.
“We have a bunch of speakers coming in, lawyers, attorneys. That way, if you have any questions about law school or about the legal field, you can always come and ask,” Delgado said.
Other organizations used the fair to reach new students and encourage greater participation on campus such as Texas Rising.
Campus organizer for the organization, Eleni Guerra, said they are looking to expand its membership and student involvement.
“We’re really just hoping to grow our membership, grow student involvement,” Guerra said.
For students, the fair also provided an opportunity to begin exploring campus involvement early in their college careers.
Freshman biology major, Italia Torres, said she wants to become more involved throughout her time at UTRGV.
“I really want to be involved in my freshman year. I just want to get more involved throughout the years, just to really take the college experience,” Torres said.
