[su_quote]“As long as you play defense, you’ve always got a chance to win games and we were just outstanding on the defensive end. No excuses at all, we just really struggled to score, we got a lot of open looks, and we’ve got to give GCU a lot of credit, we missed a lot of open shots.”

UTRGV’s starting five put up 37 points. Point guard Amara Graham added 18 points. Da’jah Daniel led Grand Canyon University with 15 points. Forward Madison Northcutt forced 12 rebounds, and three steals for the Vaqueras. Graham shot 5 for 7, 71%.
[su_quote]“It just started with being aggressive. From the jump, I just wanted to give my team a chance- I mean- baskets just weren’t going in. So, I feel like if I could get to the basket, kick it out, whether I shoot the lay up or not. As long as we do something to get us going, because we had a really poor shooting night. But we stuck with it, didn’t give up and that was good.”
