Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina Arrested on Suspected Voter Fraud Charges

On Thursday morning Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina is cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety and was escorted to the Hidalgo County Sherriff’s Office for booking– for the charges involving engaging in organized election fraud– and two illegal voting charges. Molina’s wife– Dalia Molina was also charged of illegal voting concurrently– their bonds totaling to over 25,000 dollars.

UTRGV Radio spoke to Texas DPS Lieutenant Johnny Hernandez regarding the charges– Hernandez states that DPS only had affliction with transportation and assistance in the case.

The Office of Texas Attorney General statement– was released later in the day and included remarks made by Attorney General Paxton on the basis of voter fraud.

The statement given by the Office of Texas Attorney General also explains exactly how this illegal voting was performed by Molina.

[su_quote] “Molina and his wife had numerous voters change their addresses to places they didn’t live – including the apartment complex he owns – for the express purpose of voting for Molina in the November 7, 2017, Edinburg municipal election. His vote harvesting scheme involved the participation of paid campaign workers, among others.”
