UTRGV will host a Vaquero Fair from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Harlingen Clinical Education Building lobby to share information about resources with students.
Raul Leal, program coordinator for Student Activities, gave details about the event.
The organizations and departments that will be present are the Student Union, Student Activities, Marketing and Communications, the Engagement Zone, and the Center for Student Involvement.
They will talk about the organizations that are available for students to join.
Leal encourages students to get involved in the organizations since some of the memories that a college student creates are outside the classroom.
There are around 200 organizations, plus fraternities and sororities. About 10 organizations are active on the Harlingen campus.
Students are looking forward to having fun, making new friends and encountering new opportunities.
Emily Torres, a 20-year-old art junior who transferred from Texas Southmost College, is interested in getting more involved.
Ariana Torres, an 18-year-old incoming freshman majoring in biology, said she hopes to see clubs like folklórico and other dance genres.
Students interested in any organization may contact the Center for Student Involvement office at 665-2660 in Edinburg and 882-5111 in Brownsville.
Student Activities has more information about its events @utrgvstudentactivities.
The Student Union office is located in ESTUN 2.316 on the Edinburg campus and in BSTUN 1.16 on the Brownsville campus.
