Not only do they meet the team on the visit, but they get to see the installations, the academic parts, the games, or hang out at the village apartments. Head Coach Lowrey commented to Vaquero Radio.
“We have been hitting the recruiting hard and start seeing benefits from that”
So far, the team has signed five new players, and they are looking for the last addition for the UTRGV.
The recruiting process has been a success so far because of how the campus is not only friendly to the athletic department but also for the internationals because of the support system that is given in the campus.
Supporting coach’s Lowrey’s statement, the future UTRGV player Natalie Reyes commented
She chose UTRGV because of the academics and the help offered to student-athletes. She gets to study BS – Exercise Science and play volleyball. The first impression from Natalie is that the girls from the volleyball team are sweet, smart, humble, and bubbly, something you look for in teammates but in friends too.
“The girls have a very competitive nature just like me, they want to go to the gym, work hard and it’s something that I’m excited about, being part of the culture and being part of the program”
She started playing volleyball at the short age of 12. Reyes is excited and looking forward to starting the program, getting championships, continuing a legacy, bringing the best energy, and being better every day with the new additions and the girls from the team.
