The Korean International Student Society serves UTRGV students by creating a space where people can connect over K-pop and Korean culture.
Through meetings, activities and interactive events, the organization encourages students to express themselves, learn new things and build friendships on campus.
K.I.S.S historian Odalys Ramirez said the club offers flexible opportunities for students to get involved.
K.I.S.S member Kayla Rangel shared with us the weekly dynamic that the club has for its members.
“And then on Thursdays is our dances. So Thursdays, you’ll learn the choreography or just talk and discuss as well,” Rangel said.
The organization also provides a welcoming environment where students can relax and connect with others who share similar interests.
K.I.S.S President Vanessa Aguilar said the club helps students take a break from daily stress and build a true community with other people who share similar likings.
“A place where, like, they can just distract themselves from anything that’s going on, from school, work, and just enjoy something that we all have in common.” Aguilar said.
For more information about the organization, students can attend one of their weekly meetings on campus or visit the UTRGV webpage on VLink.
